Year 1

Your First Year at LOBC

The first year at the Bible school is divided into two classes: a Swedish-speaking class and an international English-speaking class. During this year, the focus is on building a solid foundation for each believer through relevant Bible teaching, practical experience, and time for prayer and worship. Here, you will grow in your understanding of God’s Word, in your spiritual life, and in your walk with God – whether you’ve been a Christian for many years or are new to the faith.

A typical school day at the Bible school runs from 08:30 to 11:50, starting with worship and prayer, followed by three lessons with breaks in between. The lessons cover both contemporary topics and foundational aspects of the Christian faith (see the full list of subjects below). Some subjects are supplemented with course literature. The school has a wonderful mix of international and Swedish students, and we are also visited by exciting international speakers, creating a blend of both Swedish- and English-speaking teaching.

After school, there is also an opportunity to stay to seek God and pray together with others, during the Prayer School, which runs from 12:30 to 13:30.

Seminars

Special Days with Guest Speakers

In addition to the regular class days, there will be open seminar days with guest speakers and reflection days, where you will have the opportunity to ask questions and discuss the topics you’ve covered.

Internship

Find Your Place in the Church

During the year, you will engage in a team within the church or at the Bible school, giving you the opportunity to practice and grow in areas you’re passionate about – whether it’s worship, hosting, media, or something else. Through this, you will also meet new people and be part of building the church! There are also several conferences and events where you can contribute in various ways.

Mission

Take What You’ve Learned to Europe

The highlight of the year for many of our Bible school students is the mission trip, which takes place at the end of the year. Here, you will join a team to travel to a European country for ten days and serve in various ways. Each trip is unique, but there is often an opportunity to evangelize, teach, help practically, and lead worship. Through this trip, you will also have the chance to meet and connect with the local church in the area, which can be very inspiring in itself.

Year 1

Subjects

The lessons cover both contemporary topics as well as the most foundational aspects of the Christian faith. You can find the full list of subjects here!
