Since Word of Life saw the light of day on May 24, 1983, we have dreamed, built, developed and formed a church that loves Jesus and loves people. We want to be a warm and outgoing church and a place where people, of all ages, can feel right at home and included in the Christian community. This also applies to everyone who comes to our bible school. Here you have the opportunity to grow both as a person, in your faith in Jesus and in creativity. Getting involved in the church while attending WLBC not only provides opportunities for development in various areas, but also makes Uppsala a home during your year at bible. Welcome!

We work in many different areas in Uppsala, in Scandinavia and globally all over the world, with the goal of making Jesus’ love available to as many people as possible. The words we received from the Lord when we planted our church was; “Equip the people of God with His word of faith. Show them what spiritual weapons they have. Teach them to use them and send them out in victorious battle for the Lord.” This is reflected in everything we do from our local church and church operations as well as our social efforts among refugees, homeless in Uppsala, but also reflected in our missionary work, Bible schools and humanitarian work in many countries of the world. Today we have about 3,000 members in the congregation in Uppsala.

Livets Ord Bible Center is located in Uppsala, Sweden. This is a city with over 220,000 citizens, of which a large proportion are students. Uppsala is also centrally located with Stockholm a 30 minutes train ride away and with Arlanda airport close by.

The city is also one of Sweden’s oldest and has a number of historic buildings such as the library Carolina Rediviva, Uppsala Castle and the cathedral, which is the largest in Scandinavia.
