FAQ
What are the lower and upper age limits for LOBC?
To attend LOBC, you must be at least 18 years old or have completed your high school education. There is no upper age limit!
Do you offer financial support?
No, LOBC does not offer financial support. Studies at LOBC are not eligible for CSN (Swedish student support). However, if you choose to attend the second year, you can apply for CSN. Contact CSN for more information.
Do I have to complete Year 1 before I can attend Year 2?
Yes, Year 2 is a continuation course from the first year at the Bible school, so you must complete Year 1 at LOBC before you can apply for the second year. There are other Bible schools that offer a similar program to LOBC, and in some cases, you may be able to transfer your first year from another school. If you wish to transfer Year 1 from another Bible school, please contact info@lobc.se before applying.
Can I bring my children to the Bible school?

All dates for the Bible school can be found here!
Is the teaching in English or Swedish?
In the first year, we have both an international English-speaking class and a Swedish-speaking class. In the Swedish class, the teaching is in Swedish except for certain days together with the international class, which will be held in English. In the International class, the teaching is in English. In the second year, all teaching is in English.
Can I start the Bible school in the spring semester?
No, we only offer courses that start in the autumn semester.
What is the difference between Year 1 and Year 2?
In the first year at LOBC, you receive foundational teaching on Christian beliefs and faith-related topics. The subjects in Year 2 are more advanced and have a more practical focus. Mission and leadership are also central themes in Year 2, and you will have the opportunity to go on several longer mission trips. (Read more about Year 1 and Year 2.)
If I apply and get accepted, but choose not to attend, can my application be transferred to the next year?
Your application is not transferable, but you are welcome to apply again. Please note that we will also need new recommendations and a new application fee.
Year 1
The first year at Bible school provides you with a foundational introduction to God, the Bible, and the Christian life in a vibrant environment where you have space and time to get to know God and yourself, while also being equipped to be a witness wherever you are.
Year 2
Year 2 is a natural progression from your first year at LOBC, which is also a so-called “Folkhögskola” course in collaboration with Umeå Folkhögskola. Here, you will dive deeper into God’s Word while being practically equipped and challenged as a leader. A large part of the year focuses on practical experience, where you can specialize in mission or local church leadership.
